style = “clear: both;” /> style = style = “tiny” “margin-bottom: 0.5em;”> This review is from: Canon EOS Rebel T2i 18 MP CMOS APS-C digital SLR camera with 3.0-inch LCD (Body Only) (camera) I just had this camera today (well, present a body I have no use for the purpose of the kit) and I’m impressed. I had a lot of research before buying it, so I knew what they did both in regard to issues of major update and the little tricks they expect, some of which have to be really great. If you are from another Canon in the menus and the interface will become second nature. Based on another review only by a very positive, Nikon is also an easy step. Here are some initial observations:
The Best:
A big bump in ISO. It was one of the main reasons why I received from my trusty (and still good) XSI updated. I did some test shots and even up to a 18-MP sensor noise is not really a problem and I shot a few peaks at 3200 ISO, which look pretty good. I then shot a few starts in 6400 which, to show some noise in low light, but is used for images. I can not wait to see what it will do to a fire in a camping trip with my daughter to come! My XSI despite a 2.8 could not deal with that in the past.
The draw for me was the other big video. I dream of a position to make a single camera, say, Disneyland and have a dual role, and I think we can. So far I have only a few scenes in the light quite low shot and the focus is a bit of a challenge to come but by zooming in and allows the camera to focus before the game is manageable. I do not expect that much of a problem in bright light. Be sure to activate the autofocus during video recording in the menu – I guess it’s because of the noise by default do a lot with the focusing lenses, which are recorded disabled. I have two USM / “L” so that the lenses should not be a problem for me, but your mileage may vary. I also have to try a few manual focus. Please note that video clips are limited to 1080p 30 fps to about 12 minutes – I was a bit worried about this until I realized that if I use my video recordings rarely more than 4 minutes (and have realized I usually keep only 2 or less). This means that this camera is not the only one to choose, to save, for example, a production. This requires a special video camera to record an hour or more at a time is a must.
The Good:
See
live better – Live View mode is now much more accessible and modes.
sensor size – 18 MP sensor is good for the plants, and enjoy the “L” glass, if you have it. Other than that, it’s not a big attraction in my opinion. I would actually either a 12-MP camera for low-noise spikes ideal for, say, have preferred more than 20,000 ISO.
Memory Type – This device uses SD cards, including new high capacity cards. I know it’s a small thing, but I like to use the card instead of my duty, but some cards cost FC (as used by the 7D). Remember, they recommend class 6 or higher for video cards (I had a couple of 16 GB Class 10 cards for about $ 40 per person, which should do the trick). I will use my old cards are used only for still images.
stereo microphone – This allows the option of a better microphone, a built-in microphone. I can never enjoy it, but I suspect that I am actually. Of course, the inclusion of a stereo microphone would have been even better!
Other – Many things have impressed me about this camera. For example, they took the “no flash” setting on the dial on the right side next to the Full Auto setting, and my most frequently used “portrait” mode and the tip of the way as they use that many people realized the it (after I saw a video online with a representative from Canon). There are many small details like that which I have already noticed.
Bad: (not so bad in many ways)
The build quality is not
7D (which I dealt with in a shop). The magnesium casing on this bad boy is just feel very strongly, and in comparison with the T2i does not feel cheap, but do not feel light. On the other hand, less weight is good (especially in places such as Disneyland), and this camera is in accordance with the designation “baby-7D” in relation to the sensor chip, etc. Of course, with an additional $ 1,000 in your pocket (or not on your card charges) is another big advantage with the 7D.
is not a full-frame camera. That is, there is a “crop factor” because of the size of the chip that was effectively multiplied by 1.6 the length of the lens used (compared with 35 mm cameras or full frame cameras like the 5D Mk II to I XSI come one, which of course also have a smaller sensor, it gives me to do no transition.
In summary, I am very pleased with this purchase, very satisfied and wait until the camera this is my body, let go until my last camera (full frame, a stereo microphone, uses SD cards, usable ISO> 100 000 All for under $ 1000 – I know, I know it’s a pipe dream today, but a child dreamed of (old), it can not)?

I have only good experiences with it so far, and we recommend to all.
other than the T2i, I (and especially to shoot), the Rebel XS (1000D), and also has extensive experience with the Canon 50D. During my XS serve me very well yet, I wanted to get a DSLR with video capabilities, since the release of the T1i. After I finally saved up enough for the T1i, I’m really lucky that Canon has the T2i, given the known properties even better! I am lucky, after all they have and want to share my experiences and how they compare my expectations
==================
Overall impression
The camera is very small and lightweight. It is not waterproof or as durable as some of the more expensive SLR, but it does not “feel good” in my opinion. It has a 3-inch LCD screen (at the 2.5-inch screen, Rebel XS), which also has a very high resolution. She is adorable! Auto focus is fast and I was very pleased with the quality of pictures and videos I’ve ever met.

PROS
image quality: I was afraid that cramming so many megapixels on the sensor, there are a lot of “noise” images (the myth of megapixels). This is fortunately not been a problem, and I was very pleased with the photos taken with this camera! In addition to issues of white balance (see below Cons), the picture quality is very good!
VIDEO: Some people said unkind to DSLR-Video is just a gadget. I do not agree. Based on the sample clips on YouTube I saw, I was happy to be a HDSLR, and while the videos are sometimes fragile, if not very stable hands, tripod eliminates this concern. The audio quality on the T1i has been criticized by many, but the T2i has a microphone, you can use a microphone. I do not own one can not so commenting on this feature, but will update this review if and when I save enough to try it. In addition, this improved recording options, including a higher fps (frames per second) that the T1i, which offered technically “true HD” recording from 1080, but only jerky 20 fps.
low light, I am much more impressed than I had expected. My Rebel XS could save up to 1600 ISO, but are underperforming. This is not only to a much higher ISO, but does much better. Less noise means you spend less time editing your photos, and more guards!
SDXC
SUPPORT: Only own SDHC cards up to today, but it’s good to know that the next generation of flash memory, which means that you will in future be able to take many images means supports more than currently available.
CONS
NOT FULL FRAME DSLR
: This is not a full frame DSLR like the Canon 5D Mark II and the results of APS-C sensor size by a factor of culture (1.6 ×), and do not necessarily not the same picture quality as the larger, full frame sensor is working. But less than half the cost of the Mark II, I think it’s a compromise worth it for most users.
crop factor means that this camera such as Canon DSLRs that have APS-C size image will not be true, the designation of the lens. A 50mm lens is to produce an image more in line with 50mm x 1.6 or 80 mm on a full frame. This is not only a difference for those landscape photography (usually benefited from wide-angle views) want, but for those with unstable hands. The general logic is that a steady shot to ensure you have hit the reciprocal of your focal length. So for a focal length of 50mm, you should shoot at a speed faster than 1 / 50 second shot at a steady. Keep the crop factor in mind, you should really put a speed faster than 1 / 80 of a second.
cultures are factors that increase in most digital SLR cameras, such as full-frame sensors, the cost of production which is then transmitted to the consumer in the form of expensive cameras. So it’s not so much to keep a failure of the Rebel T2i, but just a note to the back of the head.
different drum: It’s more complicated for those with extra batteries for those whose first instinct would be T2i, but Canon has changed the battery. Again, no big deal, but maybe a problem for some who find their old batteries are used in this model.
White Balance: White balance I found the “Automatic” setting was wildly inaccurate on my Rebel XS (often provide images in a yellow, when I changed the WB mode “light bulb”), and I feel that the WB Settings for this model are not as accurate as they should be. If you really want to clear the WB, you can use a gray card, or an alternative would be to try to just edit digital photos on your computer the … Read more
